Jordanian Man Jailed in Dubai for Sending Colleague Porn on WhatsApp
While sexting has always sounded like a bad idea, sending porn to your colleague at work in a country such as the UAE, with zero nonsense policies, sounds like a horrible idea. A Jordanian finance manager just lost his appeal after a court upheld his three-month suspended imprisonment. The boss was accused of sending pornographic images on WhatsApp to his Filipina colleague.
The 22-year-old victim accused her boss of trying to grope her at work, as well as sending her indecent images. “The first time, he grabbed me by the hand, but I didn’t pay too much attention to it. He then grabbed my hand repeatedly, and later touched my thighs. I tried to avoid him and his repeated attempts to grope me,” she said.
“Later, he started sending me pornographic pictures on WhatsApp. I told the director and reported the matter to the police. In my complaint, I informed them that he had groped me. Whenever he molested me, I was too scared to shout at him, or scold him at the workplace. I reported him again to the director once he forwarded me images and video of sexual nature,” the co-worker testified.
Last April, the Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the defendant and handed him a three-month suspended jail term and was ordered to be deported. The Jordanian employee tried to appeal his primary ruling, yet he lost his case and that’s why we love UAE.
