As millions of pilgrims from around the world travel to Mecca and Medina each year, Saudi Arabia is continuing to blend tradition with technology in new ways. The Kingdom has introduced a smart AI-powered robot at Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, designed to offer religious guidance, multilingual support, and digital services aimed at enhancing the pilgrim experience.

According to the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques, the robot provides visitors with interactive religious and educational content through an easy-to-use digital interface. Pilgrims can access information about different locations and services within the mosques, receive answers to religious inquiries, and use instant translation features that help bridge communication gaps between visitors of different nationalities and cultures.
The initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s wider push toward digital transformation, with artificial intelligence increasingly being integrated into religious outreach and awareness services. By combining modern technology with spiritual guidance, the Kingdom aims to make the pilgrimage experience more accessible, informative, and seamless for worshippers from across the globe.

Saudi Arabia has continued to expand the use of advanced technology during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, introducing smart applications, crowd management systems, and AI-powered services designed to improve the experience for millions of pilgrims each year. The launch of this new AI robot reflects the Kingdom’s growing effort to use technology not to replace tradition, but to enhance and support the spiritual journey for a new generation of pilgrims.
