Artists4Ceasefire has renewed its call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, with prominent names including Javier Bardem, Mark Ruffalo and Annie Lennox among those backing the campaign.
The statement was also attributed to Melissa Barrera, Hannah Einbinder, Ilana Glazer, Poppy Liu, Cynthia Nixon, Susan Sarandon and Morgan Spector, all of whom are listed among the collective’s signatories.
The group is calling for an end to the violence alongside unrestricted humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza. “There is no ceasefire in Gaza,” the statement said, arguing that Palestinians continue to face deadly attacks despite the ceasefire agreement announced in October 2025.
The latest statement comes as violence in Gaza continues despite the October 2025 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
According to figures cited by Artists4Ceasefire, more than 1,200 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,000 wounded since the ceasefire was announced. The Gaza Health Ministry’s death toll had reached 1,203 by July 27, according to Al Jazeera, with Israeli strikes continuing in several parts of the territory.
Children have also continued to be among those killed. UNICEF recently reported that at least 300 children had reportedly been killed in Gaza during the roughly 300 days since the ceasefire agreement was announced, with hundreds more injured.
Artists4Ceasefire has argued that the continued deaths show the need for a permanent truce rather than a temporary pause in fighting.
“We need everyone working together to assert our shared humanity towards an end to this decades-long oppression, and to demand our collective liberation. None of us are free until all of us are free.”
Artists4Ceasefire has long used its platform to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the return of all hostages and humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza. The collective says its wider goal is a future built around freedom, dignity, justice and peace for Palestinians and Israelis.
Its signatories include Billie Eilish, Cate Blanchett, Joaquin Phoenix, Andrew Garfield, Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, alongside Bardem, Ruffalo, Lennox, Nixon and many others.
The latest Artists4Ceasefire statement comes amid wider international pressure over the continued loss of civilian life. In recent months, governments across the region have repeatedly called for an end to the violence and greater protection for Palestinian civilians.
With the humanitarian crisis continuing, the artists’ latest message is simple: a ceasefire, they argue, must mean an actual and lasting end to the killing, alongside sustained humanitarian access for people in Gaza.
