If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a makeup artist’s eye for detail spills into her wardrobe, meet Fatima El Asmar, aka Tika. Based between Cairo and Riyadh, the beauty and digital creator shares everything from makeup and wellness to fits, lifestyle and travel, and, judging by her style philosophy, she’s definitely not a “less is more” kind of girl.
For Tika, getting dressed is another form of self-expression. Trends can come and go, but knowing what works for you, throwing in a little extra and actually loving what you’re wearing? That’s the real style formula.

More Is More, Actually
Minimalism might have its moment, but Tika is not exactly rushing to join the club.
“Less is more.” I actually think more is more. I love being extra, adding that unexpected piece, and making an outfit feel like a statement. I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed every single time.
Honestly, we can get behind a little overdressing. There’s something much more fun about an outfit that looks like you actually wanted to put it together rather than accidentally walked out of the house.
And while the trends may change, there’s one wardrobe staple she knows she can always count on.

The Blazer That Never Leaves
Some pieces survive every wardrobe clean-out, and for Tika, the oversized blazer is that girl.
“A really good oversized blazer. I’ve worn them through every version of my style, and somehow they always work.”
That’s probably the best kind of wardrobe investment: the piece that somehow works whether your style is having a completely different personality this year.

Forget the Trend, Know Your Shape
With trends arriving faster than anyone can realistically keep up with, Tika thinks the better investment is understanding what actually works for you. Because yes, that viral piece might look incredible on your FYP, but that doesn’t automatically mean it belongs in your wardrobe.
“I think knowing your body is the key to looking amazing. It’s not about wearing what’s trendy, it’s about knowing what complements you.”
Her point is less about avoiding trends and more about knowing how to make them your own. A trend should be something you play with, not something that dictates your entire closet.
“Not every fit fits all, and something can look incredible on someone else but not necessarily be right for you.”

Denim Is Forever
If there’s one thing Tika thinks deserves permanent real estate in your wardrobe, it’s a pair of jeans. Not the jeans you keep because you might wear them one day. The ones that make you immediately understand why you bought them.
“A really good pair of jeans. The exact cut might change over the years, but denim never disappears. If you find the pair that fits you perfectly, keep them forever.”
And honestly, finding the pair of jeans is basically a fashion rite of passage. Once you do, you hold on for dear life.
TikTok Can Inspire, But It Doesn’t Decide
As a digital creator herself, Tika is no stranger to seeing trends come across her feed. But being online all day doesn’t mean she’s automatically buying into every microtrend the internet throws her way.
“They’ve definitely changed how I discover things, but not necessarily what I buy.”
That distinction is key. Social media can be the place where you discover the piece, but whether it actually makes it into your closet is another story.
“I’d rather take inspiration from a trend and make it fit my style than wear something just because everyone else is.”
Which is probably the healthiest way to deal with the endless cycle of “you NEED this” TikToks. Take the inspo, leave what doesn’t feel like you.
So, What Makes Something Tika-Fied?
For Fatima, there’s no strict formula, no particular brand and definitely no requirement for something to be trending. The only real test is whether Tika herself is completely sold on it.
And when she says obsessed, she means obsessed.
“You know something has officially been Tika-fied when I’m so obsessed with it that I won’t stop talking about it and telling everyone around me that they NEED to have it too.”
That might be the most convincing seal of approval there is. Because if Tika has Tika-fied it, apparently you’re about to hear about it until you get it too.

The Tika-Fied Rule
For Fatima, style ultimately comes down to one thing: you have to actually love what you’re wearing. Trends can inspire you, staples can ground your wardrobe, and TikTok can introduce you to something new, but none of it matters if you don’t feel like yourself in it.
As she puts it:
“If I’m not obsessed, it’s not Tika-fied.”
And really, maybe that’s the only fashion rule worth keeping.
