16 People Killed in Attack on Cairo Restaurant

Cairo is waking up this morning to the news that as many as 16 people have been killed in an attack on a restaurant and bar in Agouza. A Molotov cocktail is reported to have been thrown into the El Sayad nightspot in the city. The venue is located in the basement and it’s reported there were no escape routes.

There are conflicting reports about the attackers. Some reports claim the attack was carried out by an employee who had been fired, other reports say masked men on motorcycles attacked the venue. An investigation has been launched.
