13th August 2012 – I Can’t Wait to Get on The Road Again
Today is national left handers day. For those who are unaware, not only do our names both include Dominique (Dominique Anita Mahoney and Kenzie Dominique Kingman) but we are also both lefties, making today our Christmas, Easter, Eid and Falantines all rolled into one (lefties have an unnatural need to feel special.) It was also time for us to pack our empire up and move back to Kenzie’s casa.
Once ‘Daddy’ saw the boxes and canvases piled up in the TV room and realized his man cave was compromised, he retreated into his bedroom and refused to come out for quite a while. Kenzie brought him a whisky on the rocks to soothe him.
The bearded man moving into our art studio is quite the pushy gentleman. He has managed to weasel his way in 13 days into the month. Who does that? Who’s life is that unbalanced that they can’t wait until the 1st of the month to gather their galabeyas and tins of foul to invade someone elses life?
So like two wet chickens, furious, we packed our children up carefully in bubble wrap and transported them to Kenzie’s house, our new impromptu studio.
During the move we realised we were low on supplies so we sent Mojo to Alwan with a list and a red bull. Mojo is Kenzie’s 300kg driver, who had to smush himself into poor little Wrangler Herbie because he isn’t allowed to drive Mom’s car since his ass leaves a crescent shaped dent in the seat. At one point during lunch, Kenzie, trying to explain to Mojo over the phone that she wanted 5 new canvases not 5 new sketch pads, angrily told Dom her trumpet voice was not welcome while she was trying to get some business done. Dom was extremely surprised, feeling like the trombone had no right to hate on the trumpet, and quite rightly told Kenzie ‘as if you have the voice of a tinkling flute.’ Khwapaaaaahh (whiplash…)
Not gonna lie, we didn’t get any painting done, but nevertheless it was a productive day.
