New Year’s Day a Holiday for UAE Public and Private Sector

Woot, woot! It’s New Year’s Eve and we’re partying harder than The Weeknd on a weekend. But there’s one big problem.  New Year’s day is on a Sunday, aka you’re going to have to cut the fun just by a bit to be able to make it to work the next day. Well, that’s not happening in the UAE as it has just been announced that the private sector will be off on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

It gets better. Government departments and other public sector agencies will also be off to mark the New Year, according to a tweet by the Federal Authority of Government Human Resources.
