In the past few years, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been leading the scene in Egypt, promoting the culture of volunteering and in turn, improving people’s lives across the country. It gives us a sense of pride that female-related NGOs, in particular, have been on the rise, empowering more Egyptian women and helping them lead more productive lives.

Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer

Named after Mrs. Baheya Wahby who passed away after she lost her battle against cancer, Baheya is a non-profit organization and Egypt’s first free breast cancer treatment center. To date, Baheya has received over 120,000 women for early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Heya Masr

‘Heya Masr’ (She is Egypt) is a social non-profit organization that aims to empower and build the self-confidence in young Egyptian women (aged 9-18), through their belief in the importance of making an impact in the country’s future generations.

New Woman Foundation

Founded in 1984, the New Woman Foundation (NWF) is an Egyptian non-governmental organization that addresses violence against women, promotes women’s rights, and works on eliminating all forms of discrimination against women.
