Medical dramas have always had a way of keeping us on the edge of our seats, but Beng Kolli looks set to take the genre in a fresh direction. Coming soon to MBC Shahid, the upcoming Egyptian series dives into the high-pressure world of hospitals while exploring the unexpected truths that can surface under anesthesia.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of medical dramas or simply looking for your next watch, here’s why Beng Koly should be on your radar.
A Medical Drama With a Thrilling Twist
At the core of Beng Kolli is an unusual premise: the series explores the effects of anesthesia and the dangerous secrets people reveal while under its influence.
From the first character reveal shared by Shahid, the hospital won’t just be a place for life-saving operations, but also for personal conflicts and hidden truths. The story follows a young surgeon determined to step out of her famous father’s shadow, a talented doctor hiding a major secret, a respected surgeon who built his reputation from the ground up, and a mother and surgeon still searching for what’s missing in her life. Together, their lives promise plenty of suspense, emotional moments, and unexpected twists.
Salma Abu Deif Returns to Familiar Territory
Leading the series is Salma Abu Deif, who is no stranger to stories set in the medical world.
Back in 2023, she appeared in Zeinhom as Jamila, assisting forensic scientist Zeinhom as he unraveled a murder mystery. More recently, during Ramadan 2026, she starred in Aard W Talab as Heba, a dedicated teacher desperately searching for a kidney donor to save her mother, who suffers from kidney failure. The role showcased Abu Deif’s ability to balance emotional depth with high-stakes drama, making Beng Kolli another exciting addition to her portfolio.
A Cast Packed With Familiar Faces
Joining Abu Deif is a strong ensemble cast featuring Diab, Ola Roshdy, Kamal Abu Rayya, Salwa Mohamed Ali, and Mohamed Mahran.
Each actor brings a different style and screen presence, making for a cast that’s as diverse as it is experienced. With so many familiar faces coming together, Beng Kollli already has the ingredients for compelling on-screen chemistry.
Nadine Khan Brings Her Signature Storytelling
The series is directed by Nadine Khan, whose previous works include Sabe’ Gar, Meen Aal?, and Masar Egbari.
Across her projects, Khan has consistently explored the complexities of human relationships and the social issues that shape them, whether through family conflicts, friendships, or personal struggles.
Based on everything revealed so far, Beng Kolli seems set to continue that tradition, blending medical drama with layered characters and thought-provoking themes.
With an intriguing concept, a talented cast, and a director known for emotionally driven storytelling, Beng Kolli already has all the makings of one of Shahid’s most anticipated upcoming series. Until an official release date is announced, we’ll definitely be keeping this one on our watchlist.
