Florence Pugh is once again opening up about her support for Palestine. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actor reflected on her early and continued advocacy, saying she was never afraid to speak out despite the industry’s initial hesitation. She also spoke about how difficult it is to watch civilians continue to suffer while everyday life around the world keeps moving forward.
She Started Speaking Up Before It Became a Hollywood Conversation
Florence Pugh is opening up about something she’s been vocal about for years: her support for Palestine. In a new Vanity Fair cover story, the actor reflected on why she chose to speak out at a time when much of Hollywood was still relatively quiet on the subject and why she never felt particularly afraid to do so.
“I don’t know why it took so long for people to start talking and for people to actually feel sympathy”
Pugh now told Vanity Fair, for being somewhat ahead of the curve in Hollywood when it comes to supporting Palestine.
“But no, I was never scared of it. And I think weirdly, because so many people actively weren’t [speaking up], that made me even more confused, and kind of probably even more in the right to talk about it.”
She also pointed to the painful reality that, despite the passage of time, the suffering has continued.
“It’s still happening, though,” Pugh added. “Babies are still dying. Mothers are still in pain. It’s really horrible to be watching such pain when so much of our lives just seem to be moving forward.”
She Has Been Speaking Up for Palestine for Years
Pugh’s recent comments are far from her first public show of support for Palestine. According to Vanity Fair, Pugh has periodically shared donation links for humanitarian aid to Palestinians since 2021, making her support for the cause a longstanding part of her public presence.
Rather than keeping her support behind the scenes, Pugh has continued to talk about the issue publicly, even as conversations around Palestine have remained particularly complicated within Hollywood.
She Showed Up for “Together for Palestine”
One of her most notable appearances came during the “Together for Palestine” event in 2025, where Pugh took the stage and addressed the crowd directly.

The event brought together prominent artists to raise awareness and funds for humanitarian relief, with the fundraiser eventually raising more than $2 million for frontline organizations including the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Taawon, and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society.
According to Vanity Fair, Pugh said that nobody on her team ever advised her to keep quiet about Palestine. She also expressed gratitude toward the people who helped make it possible for her to attend “Together for Palestine,” despite the concert conflicting with production on Avengers: Doomsday.
Pugh’s latest Vanity Fair interview makes clear that her support for Palestine has remained an ongoing part of how she uses her public platform.
