Abu Dhabi’s visitors can now experience the most influential art pieces of the 20th century, all in one place. A curated selection of Pablo Picasso’s artwork has arrived at Louvre Abu Dhabi for the landmark exhibition, ‘Pablo, The Figure‘, running from January 21 to May 31. Tracing the artist’s lifelong obsession with the human figure, the exhibition features 130 of his works, including ones that made their way from France, Qatar, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and West Asia.

The exhibition borrows key pieces from the Musée National Picasso-Paris, the Louvre Museum, Mobilier National, as well as Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, and other regional collections, highlighting the artist’s legacy spread all over the world. With a primary focus on the collection of the Musée National Picasso–Paris, the exhibition traces Pablo Picasso’s varying portrayal of the human body across seven decades marked by experimentation, political changes, and personal struggles.
The layout takes visitors on a chronological journey through Picasso’s career, with artworks laid out across five thematic sections that trace his evolving portrayal of figures. Alongside Picasso’s art, the exhibition shines a spotlight on 6 Arab artists, showcasing Picasso’s lasting influence on the modern world.
