Tragedy struck the Hashemite Kingdom on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan with a devastating terrorist attack. Government officials confirmed that the General Intelligence Department (GID) located in the Palestinian refugee camp of Baqaa was attacked at approximately 7AM on Monday.

Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesman Mohammed Al Momani told Petra News Agency that “such [an] attack in the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, is clear evidence of those terrorists’ criminal behavior and extremism.”

The attack claimed the lives of five GID personnel who were working at the department’s office, “including the sentry, operator and three non-commissioned officers from the office guards.”
