Rivulet: Sheikh Zayed’s Newest Dining Destination
We were invited for lunch at 6th of October last week at a new spot called Rivulet. We debated whether the place’s name was pronounced ree-vu-let or reev-you-lay but soon after we arrived and tried the food, pronounciation didn’t matter, only the food. Rivulet was not a restaurant as we thought it was, it was a street that literally didn’t end, soon-to-be filled with restaurants and shops at every corner. We picked one randomly (not really, we picked it as we saw their shisha) and sat down. It’s name was Cannero.
Before we ordered food, we got the shisha instantly (mainly because we are indecisive and didn’t really know what we wanted). After 15 minutes, we decided to get the Cannero Mix, which included various items from their appetizer menu. We also ordered fajitas, veal escalope, beef fillet and seafood pasta. It didn’t take long for the food to come (20 minutes, maybe) when we started getting bombarded with food, left and right.
The appetizers game was on point: from spring rolls to onion rings, mini hawawshis (which were our favorite item in the whole Cannero menu) and more. The fajita was sizzling hot and everything you’d want a fajita to be. We couldn’t finish the veal escalope, not because we didn’t like it, but because the portions were massive. As for the beef fillet, the sauce was just everything. We literally licked out plate clean.
