We here in Egypt take a lot of things for granted, mostly serious problems such as bullying. For some parents, bullying is a way to build a person’s character or how some kids play, and it’s nothing to worry about. These kind of parents don’t know that any verbal or physical abuse a child gets subjected to could possibly destroy them to the point of no return. Which where Advice Seekers comes into place.

Advice Seekers is an Egyptian anti-bullying NGO that was founded in 2014, consisting of people that are hell-bent on making this country a better place to live in. “My best friend used to get bullied a lot to the point that it pushed her to kill herself,” Mostafa Ashraf, CEO of Advice Seekers, tells us. “That’s how this NGO came to life. I didn’t want anyone to suffer the same way she did.”

Advice Seekers was created to help any victims of bullying overcome this very dark time in their lives and to let them know that it gets better, but their main goal is spreading awareness against bullying. They’ve done campaigns in most of the schools and universities in Egypt to help kids understand what bullying actually is, and how big of a problem it is, a problem that needs to end straight away.

Their team includes 8 social workers and 10 psychologists who communicate with victims of bullying during their sessions to help them open up about their life, and eventually, get better. Their Facebook page is open for help 24/7, and they have helpers on call all day.
