Amsterdam-based Syrian electronic DJ, producer, and now singer Noise Diva has carved a niche for herself in the scene with her ground-breaking sets, productions, and musical stylings, which entwine Moroccan trap, Egyptian R&B, French drill, dancehall, and UK garage. While she’s beloved for her ability to turn heads toward the dance floor, it’s in her production work and live performances that listeners are drawn into subtler realms of noisy, textural introspection.
The co-founder of KLAB and resident at Amsterdam’s Garage Noord returns with her latest offering, ‘Ah Ya Wad’. Diva turns inward through introspective lyricism and wistful vocals, transforming heartbreak and longing into a raw expression of selfhood, painting a vivid portrait of emotion and the complexity of toxic relationships.
The track delivers an Arabic spin on Cumbia pop, fusing the genre’s slow-burning Latin heat with Arabic lyrics steeped in heartbreak, desire, and empowerment. Co-produced with Tunisian Rachooper, the single rides on pulsing hybrid beats, anchored by Diva’s sleek, deep, and understated vocals.
Released under B62, ‘AH Ya Wad’ is smooth and effortlessly sleek, built on breezy 90s cumbia rhythms and fused with Arabic sensibilities and Middle Eastern textures, unmistakably Noise Diva’s signature sound. Complementing the release is a music video directed by Bouhdist, featuring Cairene model Omar Cashmer and his bike, which mirrors the single’s narrative. Shot in Egypt, the video shows Noise Diva reminiscing about the good days with her ex-lover after a breakup. It opens with a voice note from her former partner before she begins to reimagine and relive the memories.
