Arab African International Bank Supports the Squash Scene in Egypt in the Most Motivating Way Possible
Egyptians have been making history since the beginning of our time, but could the ancient Egyptian civilization be our only great achievement? That’s what Google used to think, or anyone who’s been sleeping under a rock not aware of the history we’re still making to this day. One of the things we’re sure proud of is how our country’s dominating the world of squash.

It’s safe to say that many of the world’s top players are Egyptian; seven of the top 10 male players and four of the top women hold the same nationality as yours. So, as Egyptians, we’re obligated to appreciate and support the talents we have. That’s why our very own El Gouna International Squash Open is considered one of the most important events of the year. Not just for us, but for the entire world. The prestigious event is one of the top seven squash tournaments worldwide. Speaking of lucky number seven, it’s also worth mentioning that the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) just sponsored the world-class event for the seventh time in a row.

AAIB has done the least an organization could do to support our nation’s champions. Mere support wasn’t enough, they launched digital activations to motivate people to cheer for the players. Their live coverage of the event from videos, live stories, photos, and more, ignited the spirit our people needed to show their support.
This year’s highlights include Marwan El Shorbagy and Raneem El Welily’s victory as they scored 3-0 and 3-1 consecutively against Ali Farag and Nour El Sherbini. AAIB’s CEO, Mr. Hassan Abdalla, attended the event and handed the prize himself to the winner, Marwan El Shorbagy. The prize was a monetary one worth $24,225.
