Iraqi Man Tortured and Killed for Being ‘Too Beautiful’
The Middle East has been cursed by nonacceptance and intolerance for anything other than mundane and expected. If you dress, act, talk or express your desires differently, then it is definitely bad news for you.
Another hate crime took place in Iraq that ended with the death of Karar Noshi, a Baghdad University graduate, who worked at a theatre in the capital. His body was found in Palestine street, which happens to be one of the busiest areas of the city.
What did he do to deserve such a fate? The man was “too beautiful” and looked “gay,” Al Araby reported. The victim was kidnapped, tortured with obvious stab wounds and killed just for being different.
The actor was preparing to take part in a beauty pageant. Noshi described himself as an embodiment of every young man fighting with all his honor to defend the nation. The victim added that his photos are theatrical and cinematic works of art, which he prides himself on.
