Futuristic Luxury Unveiled: Saudi NEOM’s ‘Aquellum’ Subterranean Haven
NEOM is continuing its series of luxury projects in Saudi Arabia. After announcing its uncut gem ‘Siranna’ last December, NEOM officials unveiled a new futuristic mountain complex dubbed ‘Aquellum’ on Wednesday, January 10th.
NEOM’s statement said: “With Aquellum’s foundations steeped in cutting-edge technology, avant-garde architecture, and forward-thinking concepts, Aquellum will offer guests a taste of futuristic living through its array of pioneering experiences.”
Nestled along the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, this haven is concealed within a stunning mountain range, reaching a majestic height of 450 meters. NEOM pushes the boundaries of conventional design and transcends construction possibilities by seamlessly integrating a futuristic ecosystem into the natural surroundings.
Interestingly, accessing the Aquellum is a sensory experience in itself, as visitors will embark on a journey that begins at a floating vessel crafted to enter the destination through a concealed subterranean canal.
“Once inside, visitors will be treated to an exhilarating 100-meter-high vertical experience with an impressive courtyard space stretching from the water to the sky,” as mentioned in NEOM’s statement last Wednesday.
The Aquellum reimagines hospitality by blending hotel accommodations, retail spaces, entertainment zones, and innovation hubs. It also has an internal transit system that helps residents to access rooftop gardens, hotels, and homes.
NEOM, a compound word meaning ‘new future,’ lies in the Northwest part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; it’s like a city coming from the future, only that it’s not a city but a collective region or hub that boasts different climates, unlimited access to nature, and high livability standards.
