Cairo Confident: Minimalistic Photography in a Crowded City
In the crowded, noisy, and distracting city life of Cairo, there is one photographer who takes brave ventures to capture it in her unique minimalistic style.
Coming to Egypt after her wedding, Mika wasn’t a fan of huddled traditional home decor. Shortly, after she became aware of a culture that was draining her energy, she decided to adopt a less cluttered lifestyle. Later, she decided that she was not a fan of shopping frenzies and doing everything “big”, so she started to cut down on clutter to reduce periodic stress.
The Slovakian-born photographer taught herself photography using a combination of YouTube tutorials and trial and error. Then she started sharing her basic photographs to Instagram.
