Saudi Supports Its Sports Federations With A Whopping SR2.6bn Initiative
As part of Saudi Arabia’s quality of life program – Vision 2030, an ambitious strategy to support Saudi’s sports federations has been put in place.
By building the required environment to develop and support new lifestyle options, the quality of life program will improve both individual and family lifestyles. Citizens, residents, and tourists will be more likely to participate in cultural, entertainment, sports, tourism and urban activities.
The main goal of this initiative is to build an infrastructure that will assist various sports federations. As a result, the sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP will increase by 0.8 percent. In addition, by 2030, the process will increase community participation in sports to 40%. This initiative will be composed of a fund worth SR2.6 billion.
Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, minister of sport and president of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for its support for sports in the Kingdom.
Saudi sports have made significant progress internationally, the most recent of which was winning the bid to host the Asian Games in 2034 for the first time in the Kingdom’s history.

He stated that Saudi Arabia has now entered a new phase in its development and strengthening of sports federations for various sports. Saudi athletes will be able to compete on an international level and succeed in their sports.
As a result of this project, federations will work to improve their games, grow player numbers, compete in regional and international tournaments, promote sports tourism, and contribute to the games’ popularity in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government also expects this program to help promote the country’s culture, heritage, and national economy, as well as open up a variety of investment options.
Financial awards will be given by the Saudi government to those who win events and attain world rankings. This will enable and will boost sports tourism in the country, as well as allow Saudi Arabia’s sports section to compete in prestigious international tournaments such as the Olympics.
