For the Record: Shakira and Rihanna Duet
- Outkast are celebrating their 20th year and reunion by playing every single festival in the world. An official release on their website mentions that will be performing at over 40 this year, starting with headlining Coachella in April. Here’s hoping 2014 brings us more band reunions (Gnarls Barkley? My Chemical Romance? REM? Eurythmics even?).
- Speaking of which, the Eurythmics are performing together next month on television special “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles”. The show is taking place exactly 50 years after the Beatles’ historic appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, and will also feature performances by Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Maroon 5 and John Legend.
- Shakira and Rihanna have teamed up on upbeat reggae-inspired single “Can’t Remember to Forget You”. Check out the new tune here:
- Multi-talented Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper show us a new talent – how to smoke while surfing – in the video for new track “The Worst Guys”:
- Foster the People are releasing their second album Supermodel this March. Here is the mesmerizing time-lapse video accompanying their first single from the album, titled “Coming of Age”:
- The Foo Fighters album is coming! The band shared a photo of the master tapes labeled “LP8” on Instagram, but the title and release date have yet to be announced. Dave Grohl promises the new album will be both “badass” and “fucking rad”, and I believe him.
- And Suzanne Vega is finally back and releasing a new album titled Tales From the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles next month. The album contains ten tracks and, according to Vega, each song tells a story about “the material world and the spiritual world and how they intersect.”
WE SAID THIS: Get down with this week’s Eargasm: The Def Jam Fam, featuring Sherry El-Kilany’s favorite tracks from the legendary label.
