Picture of the Day: Ramallah Lights up Its Christmas Tree Just in Time for the Festivities
Amid a very colorful and festive atmosphere, thousands of Palestinians gathered Sunday evening for the lighting of the Christmas tree in the West Bank city of Ramallah in occupied Palestine. In an amazing ceremony that took place that night, it included a firework show and many other festive activities. The holiday season, with its many celebrations, definitely managed to spread a feeling of joy among all people coming together from different religious backgrounds.
Ramallah was the second Palestinian city to start the festivities, right after Bethlehem on Saturday. The celebration included the lighting of the Christmas tree in the public square, as well as the traditional Christmas markets in the main city centres where local vendors and craftsmen have the opportunity to display their beautiful works.
