Mumm: Ordering Home-made Clean Food in Cairo Was Never That Easy!
One of the obstacles that face people at work is where to order food without compromising the cleanliness, taste, or variety. Ordering clean food is expensive, home-made food takes too much time, and eating junk food risks your health; the struggle is real! I’ve heard a lot about Mumm, and how it’s basically the solution to this obstacle; thus I gave it a try and was really impressed.
Mumm is an online platform that connects home-based cooks with people who don’t have the luxury of time to do their own home-made food. You go to their website, choose your district, and the available cooks with their menus appear for you to order from. The process is really easy, and you can choose between a single meal that takes around 90 minutes or a bulk of frozen or cooked food that can be ordered 24 hours in advance. They have a “low cal” category in each district as well, so you won’t have to compromise your diet either.
The first time I tried Mumm, I ordered “grilled kofta and mashed potatoes” from “Zeinab’s Kitchen” in Maadi. The food arrived on time, fresh, hot, and the packaging is very neat! From the first bite, you’ll instantly know the difference between Mumm’s kofta and the kofta we order from the street; way less greasy! I loved the food, the easy process, and the fact that I didn’t feel any guilt that we do after eating street food!
One of our team member’s relative applied to be one of Mumm’s cooks, and she tells us the process of applying is very strict when it comes to quality, taste, and cleanliness. And that after they made sure that all the required equipment are available in the kitchen and that it has a high standard of hygiene, they do tests and food tasting to make sure that all the dishes on their website are indeed tasty!
