On Tuesday, Egypt’s Superstar, Mohamed Salah, has been nominated for “The 2018 Best FIFA Men’s Player” award. With Salah joining the ten-men shortlist, the Liverpool winger became the first ever Egyptian footballer to be named for the prestigious trophy.
The 26-year-old has been having an eye-catching performance with Liverpool gaining all individual titles of the English Premier League finishing the season as the top scorer with 32 goals. Moreover, he helped his English team ending the season among the four-top clubs and reaching the Champions League final.
The award ceremony takes place in London on the 24th of September. Votes from fans, journalists, and national team coaches and captains will contribute to the outcome of the final three competing players.
However, Salah reacted to the news with quite a nice gesture as he changed his Instagram profile picture right after the news got out. He put a photo of himself when he was still playing in an Egyptian mid-table club, El Mokawloon Elarab, indicating that he didn’t forget from where it all started.
