Meet the Woman Behind UAE National Day Abaya

Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve. Emirati designer Noora Al Alawi takes the word “patriotic” to a whole new level as she showed her love for her country on the UAE’s 45th National Day with a limited edition abaya.

Al Alawi has always tried to break the mold with her fashionable and quirky abayas. “They are more than just fashion, they’re a statement,” she tells Gulf News. She uses her work as a way to empower women across the UAE and the world. But this year, she wanted to do something for her country. “As a proud Emirati who has been born and raised in this country, creating this special abaya is a gift that I would like to give to all the founding fathers of this country.”

Al Alawi also added that she wants to show through this abaya her sincere gratitude towards the people who worked really hard to achieve what they’ve achieved right now in the UAE.
