Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Khalid Abdul Aziz, announced that public screening setups would be projected in clubs and youth centers to watch the games of Egypt’s National Team in the 2018 World Cup.
“The ministry will be providing giant screens in Sporting clubs for people to gather around and watch the games. Therefore, we will overcome the encryption policy, applied by certain channels for this international event,” he said in a telephone call on DMC channel.
Qatari TV network beIN Sports has already obtained the exclusive rights to broadcast World Cup matches for the Middle East and Northern Africa region on its satellite. Though Egypt’s state television tried to negotiate with the FIFA to obtain terrestrial broadcasting rights, all requests proved illegal.
