Beauty and Style in Ramadan

0

All of the sudden we realized that it’s Ramadan and it’s freaking July. Now that Ramadan is in the middle of the summer, we’re only trying to survive it gracefully. I know one of the last thing we can think about now is “Beauty & Style”, while Ramadan is all about getting smashed with food or TV shows or even prayers. However, when you get to really think about it; beauty and style is what you need at the moment, here are some tips for the ladies.

Skin:

Instead of Kamar El Deen and Tamr Hendy, how about a bottle of water. The amount of sugar found in these drinks will lead to more dehydration during the day. Not only will you be dying from thirst, your skin will look dull and dry. Make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water during the day and go very low on any food or beverage that has a high amount of salt or sugar. If you must have some sugar, you can drink some coconut water.

Face:

Switch your foundation and powder for a tinted moisturizer. Nobody likes to look overdone in Ramadan mornings, that also doesn’t mean that you have to go out looking pale. Tinted moisturizer provides sheer layer that looks very natural and still gives a proper finish. The good thing is, it has SPF so it will protect your skin during the day, and won’t take you that long to put it on.

Switch your Volumizing mascara with clear mascara. The greatest thing about clear mascara is that it can also be used as brow gel, keeping your lashes looking perfect. The best thing about clear mascara is that, if you happen to yawn or get water in your eyes, there will be no mascara running down your face.

Switch your blusher and lipstick/lip-gloss with Cheek/Lip stain. Just make sure your lip-gloss has no flavor, incase you’re fasting. Seriously, for the blusher and lipstick, keep it simple! Cheek/lip stain provides a natural hue of pink on both lips and cheeks that believe it or not- lasts longer than blusher and lipstick.

Style:

Switch your sleeveless tops for cover-ups. Kimono inspired cover-ups are filling Zara and H&M this summer. It’s simple, loose, chic and long, just providing the cover up for arms and your bum bum without going out of style or getting really hot under layers of clothes. If you’re not up to another boring cardigan and you’re not in the mood to boil under a blazer, then a couple of colorful kimonos will do wonders to your closet this Ramadan.
