Yes, you read that correctly, Egyptian superstar Mohamed Ramadan has teamed up with Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of the former U.S. president and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, on a new single titled ‘Sah Sah’. If the pairing feels unexpected, that’s because it is, marking one of the more unusual cross-cultural collaborations to surface in recent pop memory.
The track brings together two figures from vastly different cultural and political landscapes, meeting not in policy or ideology but in dance-pop form. On ‘Sah Sah’, Ramadan and Trump trade verses that gesture toward their respective worlds (Egypt and the United States) using bilingual lyrics, party-centric imagery, and pop shorthand rather than narrative depth. Ramadan references Egypt through iconic symbols such as the Pyramids, while Trump’s contribution leans into an American club-pop sensibility, framing the exchange as celebratory rather than reflective. Rather than storytelling, the song operates through juxtaposition, placing symbols of both countries side by side.
Ramadan shared videos on Instagram along with artwork featuring both artists, with the Pyramids and the Statue of Liberty positioned in the background. In behind-the-scenes footage posted earlier, he shared moments from the shoot and captioned one video, “Our day is brighter than the White House.” Last September, he also posted photos and clips showing Trump alongside her daughter, Carolina, during what appeared to be informal dance rehearsals.
According to reporting by The Washington Examiner, ‘Sah Sah’ was recorded and filmed at Trump National Golf Club Jupiter in Florida. Trump told the outlet that music has become a creative outlet amid her busy schedule, describing the collaboration as lighthearted and enjoyable. Ramadan, for his part, said the idea for the collaboration came from Trump and emphasized that his decision to participate was rooted in artistic interest rather than politics.
The release adds another chapter to Trump’s growing involvement in music. Since debuting with a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” in 2023, she has continued to release singles across pop and hip-hop, collaborate with established artists, and expand her musical output. She is currently preparing to release an EP in April, followed by her debut album, Just Lara, later this year.
