Egypt and France have solidified their partnership by renewing a strategic cooperation agreement worth €4 billion, extending through 2030. The agreement, announced during a joint press event in Cairo, aims to support priority development projects across Egypt.
The renewed cooperation builds on a framework first agreed upon during the April 2025 summit between Presidents El-Sisi and Macron. Key focus areas include higher education, sustainable infrastructure, and climate adaptation—with a special emphasis on financing green projects through Egypt’s National NWFE platform.
At the press conference, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, highlighted that both sides have been in ongoing negotiations since April to identify priority projects aligned with Egypt’s reform agenda.
With French investments in Egypt already surpassing $7 billion and more than 50,000 local jobs supported, France remains a key economic partner.
