Over 15,000 Tourists Visit Paris’ King Tutankhamun Exhibition in Two Days

Nothing beats the wonders of ancient Egypt. In efforts to promote Egypt’s history and monuments, Tutankhamun “Pharaoh’s Treasures” exhibition is held from March 23rd until September 15th at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris.

The exhibition is part of a worldwide tour that includes 10 countries, after which it will be permanently displayed in the Egyptian Grand Museum.

The exhibition holds pieces of antiques that belong to the king as 150 gold coins, an assortment of his golden jewelry, sculptured objects, and gold carvings such as coffins with lion feet. In addition to statues of Oshabti denomination, wooden boxes, Canopian utensils, the statue of wooden Ka art and pots of Alabaster.

Reportedly, over 200,000 tickets have been sold and 5,000 people lined up in the entrance of Science City Lafillit during the first hour of opening.

Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Khaled Anany stated that a global insurance company has insured 150 of King Tut’s artifacts in the exhibition for EGP 15 billion.
