Finally, after refusing to host the traditional Iftar in the white house, Trump decided it was time he did it. This big event was held on the 6th of June, where many ambassadors and cabinet members from Muslim countries that included Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. Hasan Minhaj and Trevor Noah had things to say about the President’s sudden change of heart.
At the beginning of his term, Trump had many anti-Muslim opinions such as wanting to shut out all Muslims. In an interview with the CNN, he said that he thought Islam hated America and when he was criticized for not hosting the big event last year, he said that he didn’t have a problem with Ramadan and that he just didn’t like Muslims.
But now he thinks that his latest visit to Saudi Arabia was one of the greatest two days of his life, and thinks that only by working together the world can achieve prosperity and security. This made people think whether wants to seem like he likes Muslims so that the supreme court wouldn’t accusing him of hate and rule against his travel ban.
