Egyptian Parliament Approves Law to Impose Taxes on Social Media Ads

Remember when we wrote about that the Egyptian Government is thinking about applying VAT on any and all online interactions? Well, seems like the government has already made up its mind and they will start implementing the idea very soon.

According to Egypt Today, The Media, Culture and Monuments Committee drafted a new law regulating the press and media, in which it imposes taxes on advertisements posted on social media websites and Google.

At press time, the date on which they will implement the law is still undeclared. We’ll keep you posted!
