Egypt has some of the best dive sites in the world, especially in the Red Sea. What makes these spots stand out isn’t just the marine life or the clear waters; it’s also their accessibility for both beginners and experienced divers. Here’s a list of some of Egypt’s top diving sites:

Ras Mohammed National Park (Near Sharm El-Sheikh)

The famous Blue Hole is a dramatic submarine sinkhole up to 130 m depth with an arch (“the Canyon”), a magnet for adventurous technical divers. It has reef slopes that are simpler as well as deeper dives. Many refer to it as “safe if you follow the rules,” despite its very high death rate.

Brothers Islands (Central Red Sea)

via Dive into Life

This spot includes steep wall dives, lush coral, WWII wrecks; famed for sightings of whitetip and hammerhead sharks. You can typically access it on routes between Hurghada and Marsa Alam.

Daedalus Reef (Abu Kizan, Offshore Marsa Alam)

via No Troubles Just Bubbles

This reef is famous for a 400 m reef with shallow plateau and drop-offs, with frequent hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, tuna, and mantas.

Elphinstone Reef (Offshore Marsa Alam)

This reef is a renowned drift dive along plateaus dropping to >100 m with abundant sharks like white-tip, hammerheads, and even thresher or whale sharks.
