World’s Biggest Hotel to Be Built in Makkah
The world’s biggest hotel is being planned for construction in Makkah. The hotel, slated for completion in 2017, will be 45 stories tall, containing 10,000 bedrooms, 70 restaurants and four helipads.
The desert fortress-style hotel will have a 10-story podium with 12 towers built on top, and the base of the building will contain a bus station, food courts, a shopping mall and a formal ballroom.
Funded by Saudi’s Ministry of Finance, the £2.3 billion five-star hotel will also have five floors reserved exclusively for use by the Saudi royal family.
