The Arab Woman: Mirna Arif First Female in the Middle East to Head Microsoft
It’s always great and hopeful news when we hear about upcoming heroes, be it men or women. In addition, a beacon of hope lights up when we witness the empowerment of women on the rise, in this case, we’re speaking of Mirna Arif! Not only is this hopeful to women, but it also creates a sense of optimism for Egypt as a nation, and its citizens. But, who is Mirna Arif? This inspiring woman holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), as well as Marketing and Operations from AUC, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences. Arif spent the first 12 years of her career at the global oil services company, Schlumberger. There she held several leadership positions, including Marketing Director, and also took on the role regarding strategies for the software and marine sectors for the company in London. She also worked with multinational organizations through public sectors throughout the Middle East, Africa and Europe, where she gradually climbed her way up to becoming the General Manager of Microsoft Egypt.

With all that she’s has achieved in a span of years, there’s no doubt that Arif would earn the reputable company’s trust easily. Furthermore, celebrating her role in Microsoft Egypt also qualifies this gifted woman to promote Egypt’s digital transformation, in accordance with the sustainable development goals for the 2030 Strategy.
