Virginia Islamic Center Feeds Over 40,000 Muslims This Month

The Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center just took to social media to celebrate Ramadan’s accomplishments. In just a month, the center has managed to feed over 40,000 Muslims.

At Dar Al-Hijrah, we are truly thankful to be able to serve our community each and every Ramadan. Our Ramadan Iftar programs feed nearly 40,000 people during this holy month. These programs were only made possible by your donations. As we get ready to depart from the most blessed time of the year, reflect on what you’ve learned. Increase in your spiritual improvement, devotion, and worship even after Ramadan is over. Conclude your Ramadan by taking advantage of these last few nights. This is a very crucial time. Follow the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and join us for Taraweeh and Tahajud prayer for the 25th night of Ramadan! #RamadanatDAH

The center is an open mosque located in North Virginia. The impressive number of iftars served were made possible by donations and countless hours of volunteering.

Dar Al-Hijrah has a strong community with approximately 40,000 muslims residing in the area that the center serves. Construction of the facility began in 1986.

For the past 25 days, many of our selfless community members spent countless hours donating their time to keep our Iftar program running smoothly. Dar Al-Hijrah aims to serve the Muslim community and help strengthen their faith and moral conduct, as well as being an effective contributor to the advancement of society.

Palestinian-American real estate developer, Mohamed Hadid, took to social media to show support and gratitude for the enormous and well organized efforts.
