Bana Alabed, the 7-year-old girl whose Twitter account documented her experience of living in besieged Aleppo, has been evacuated safely.

Fears for Alabed’s safety spiked when her account, run by her mother, Fatemah, was temporarily shut down earlier this month and it was unclear if the family were caught in warfare or captured by forces loyal to the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad.

A tweet from Ahmad Tarakji, the president of the Syrian Medical Society, indicates she is now safely outside of Syria’s largest city.

Alabed’s Twitter account has been documenting her experience of war since September. She has told of losing everything from close friends to her house in the bombardment, along with her frustration of not being able to go to school.

WE SAID THIS: We’re very glad that Alabed and her mother are safe and sound now.
