Updates Surrounding The Deadly Sudan Conflict
With rival spanning months, the rising tension between the two groups, Sudanese army and its paramilitary Rapid Support Forces is rapidly turning into a battle over who controls one of Africa’s most important countries. The deadly Sudan conflict which started earlier this month has resulted in over 420 deaths and 3,700 injured. During the past couple of days, the residents of Khartoum have gone days without electricity and water as fighting rages around them. In addition, many refugees are unable to return to their home country like Egyptian travel content creator, Khadija Mansour who was stuck in Sudan for days and spent Eid documenting her time in Khartoum.
Dozens of Bodies Wash Ashore After Boats Sink Off Libya Coast
After two boats sank in the Mediterranean Sea, 57 bodies have washed ashore on the Libya Coast. Along with 11 bodies recovered off Qarabulli in eastern Tripoli. The refugees included groups from Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, and Pakistan.
Iran Charges Two actresses For Not Wearing Hijab
On Tuesday, April 25, Iran charged two actresses for not wearing a hijab. Police in Tehran have referred the case against Katayoun Riahi and Pantea Bahram to Iran’s judiciary, accusing them of “the crime of removing the hijab in public and posting photos on the internet.”
The Eid Films That Had Viewers Buzzing
A big part of Eid is the diverse films that drop. Two films made quite a splash with their release. Harley starring Mohamed Ramadan and Mai Omar, the story follows Ramadan, a car mechanic and of course, things go off the rails after he starts working with a gang. The film has been making headlines after earning a whopping 22 million and a half.
There is also 13 Youm or 13 Days starring Dina El Sherbiny, Ahmed Dawood and many more. It has been the talk of the town for not only being a horror film that will have you spooked in no time but for being the first Arab and Egyptian film that is 3D.

Palestinian-Chilean singer, Elyanna rocked Coachella’s stage just two weeks ago making headlines as the first Arab artist to sing a full set in Arabic. She captured many people’s attention during Eid for performing in style as she wore Egyptian designer Rafik Zaki. The shredded two-piece purple suit was definitely an unforgettable look.
Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Dine At Egypt’s Abou El Sid
American beloved actor, Tom Hanks was spotted alongside his wife, Rita Wilson in the famous Egyptian Zamalek eatery, Abou El Sid as they enjoyed traditional Egyptian cuisine. Rumor has it, the Forrest Gump star was shooting a movie but we’ll just have to wait and see.
