Matter Co-Founder, Majd El Sherif Joins Cannes Direct Lions Judge Panel
Whether it’s the iconic red circles of food joint Wimpy, the simple but sleek lettering of digital payment company Paymob, ‘Matter’ the Egyptian consulting agency behind these easily recognizable brands and memorable designs and so much more is celebrating this week not just its clients but its co-founder Majd El Sherif. El Sherif has been selected as part of the jury of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity as Jury Member in the Direct Category.
El Sherif took to Instagram to share the exciting news by saying, “it’s an honor to be given the opportunity in Cannes to assess groundbreaking creativity that will go on to set the standard for the next 70 years to come. As this year Cannes Lions will celebrate 70 years of defining the global benchmark for creative excellence.”
The co-founder of Matter is a lot of things; he’s a multidisciplinary creative artist who does everything from painting to branding obviously.
El Sherif won’t be the only one representing Egypt at the French festival as Ali Ali, co-founder of Good People is also set to take part in the Film Lions Jury.
It’s important to note that Cannes Lions Egypt and Creative Industry Summit are the ones behind the selection process of who gets to judge at the festival.
The international festival will take place at the Palace of Festivals and Congresses of Cannes this upcoming June.
