Dubai’s coastline is now home to J1 Beach, a high-end seaside destination featuring 13 upscale dining venues and exclusive beach clubs. Opened in October 2024, J1 Beach—formerly known as La Mer—presents a curated blend of international and local dining concepts, including the world’s largest beach club.
A Culinary Destination by the Water
J1 Beach caters to food enthusiasts with a variety of global cuisines and refined dining experiences. Among the notable venues is Gigi Rigolatto, offering Italian cuisine with two scenic terraces, a Mediterranean garden, a private beach, a pool, and a petanque court.
Gitano brings a modern take on Mexican flavors, while Almayass by the Sea serves Lebanese-Armenian fusion dishes, blending rich culinary traditions.
For contemporary East Asian cuisine, Bâoli Dubai provides a jungle-inspired setting, while Chouchou introduces guests to a members-only French beach house.
Each venue highlights a distinct culinary style, reflecting Dubai’s diverse dining landscape.
Internationally Recognized Concepts and Upcoming Openings
The destination hosts an array of globally recognized and innovative dining spots, including:
• African Queen – A French dining experience with a long-standing reputation.
• Kaimana Beach – Combining Asian and Polynesian flavors.
• Lúnico – Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine with coastal views.
• Ninive Beach – A Mesopotamian-themed venue inspired by ancient flavors.
Additional openings include Sirene by Gaia, an expansive 9,000 sqm project by Dubai-based chef Izu Ani featuring Greek Mediterranean dishes, a private beach, and a pool.
Other anticipated venues include Sakhalin, which is presenting a ‘Mediterrasian’ concept, and La Baia by the Beach, the Dubai iteration of a popular New York restaurant.
