Brad Pitt’s Latest Movie ‘War Machine’ Was Shot in Abu Dhabi

Brad Pitt’s big-budget Netflix movie has been shooting in Abu Dhabi ever since September 2015, and it has been just confirmed that the shooting finished a few months ago and a trailer is finally out. Based on The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan, by the late author Michael Hastings, the satire War Machine stars Pitt as 4-star American general.

Abu Dhabi stand in for the Afghanistan desert, and possibly a bit of Iraq too. War Machine shows locations such as Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
Netflix also revealed that the US$60 million production will be released on the platform worldwide on May 26.

Brad’s character seems to be rather sassy and fresh (with that hair); at one point in the trailer he sarcastically quips: “No finish your phone call, the war can wait…”
