Best Mexican Restaurants for You to Try in the UAE

Via Shortlist Dubai

Mexican food is one of the most popular cuisines for sure, but it’s also one of the most misunderstood in the world. Mexican cuisine is not just Chili con carne and tacos! A friend of mine told me once that you can actually have a different Mexican dish every single day without repeating for a whole year. Their food is known for its richness and magical flavors. However, there are lots of dishes that are surprisingly healthy as well as balanced, making it easier for you to go vegetarian without getting bored.

Whether its tacos, burritos or simply just old fashioned guacamole, there are lots of Mexican restaurants around the UAE for you to try! Here’s a list of them to check out.

Loca

Via Loca

It’s a Mexican restaurant and sports bar located in Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa; it’s arguably the best Mexican place in town! It’s considered one of the favorite places for many Dubai residents. The quirky interior going on along with the lively vibes in the evening, chilled vibes during the daytime, and brilliant food all the way through. They have a wide range of rustic Mexican food; Fajitas and Enchiladas are the order of the day and they’re awesome!

I advise you to get the Guacamole to watch it being prepared by the staff chef in front of you. The food there is just as good as it looks, super fun spot that has a very unique ambiance with a gorgeous view in the outdoors area.

Tortuga

It’s one of the best Mexican kitchens and bars around, located in Jumeirah Mina Al-Salam. It offers both outdoors and indoors seating options; the place is very colorful, authentic, and it gives you a sort of comforting, fuzzy and warm feeling.

The food there is beyond words; they have recently updated their menu adding Molcajete Tlajamuclo; a mix of melted cheese, pasilla chili sauce, avocado, coriander, and corn tortillas with shrimps as an option on the side. They also have live music, great lighting, an amazing atmosphere, a very helpful staff. Bottom line is, this place must be on your list!

Located in Al-Habtor city, this place is a vibrant fiesta of modern Mexico and Latin America offering urban and soulful dishes. Their menu draws from traditional Mexican and Latin cuisine featuring guacamole, tacos, scallops with passion fruits. The amazing banana leaf with roasted chicken comes with baby potatoes and Argentina chimichurri.. yummy! You won’t need appetizers to order with this dish. The venue is excellent and the food is out of this world.

This place is the perfect spot for friends/family outing; it has this friendly and comforting vibe filled with colorful murals. Poco is known for its amazing tacos; they offer a tasting taco trey that features six different soft shell tacos that include meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. The crunchy shrimp tempura with spicy jalapeño salsa is the customers’ favorite. Their meat is chargrilled and so juicy, it’ll leave you wanting more. This restaurant is a great option for a relaxed and fun evening or for a light lunch with your loved ones.

Once you enter the restaurant you’ll feel like you’re in a little paradise. It’s located in Holiday Inn Express, away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Everything in the restaurant is painted in pastel colors with huge mirrors on the walls along with slogans. In addition to their little patterned plates with chilies and watermelons, they sure have put a lot of effort to make the place this good. Their menu offers traditional Mexican dishes like sopes, tamalitos, capichanas, and of course, guacamole and quesadillas.

This amazing Mexican restaurant is located in Abu Dhabi’s Sheraton Hotel and Resort. It has stood up for almost 15 years as the city’s most popular hangout spot. Its wooden decor of the restaurant brings a taste of Mexico all the way to the UAE.
