Bars and Pubs in Dubai to Stop Serving Alcohol Until Further Notice
Ever since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries have shifted between locking down and opening up, to balance between fighting the virus and returning to the normal life. Earlier this week, it was announced that Dubai Police revoked the rule that alcohol must be served with food in restaurants. But now, this has been reinstated.
Dubai Police has sent a new circular stating that all bars and pubs must stop serving alcohol immediately, as from Wednesday, June 24 until further notice.
According to sources, the notice said “We would like to inform you that it has been decided to close all bars and pubs and stop serving alcoholic beverages as of Wednesday 24/06/2020 until further notice. Kindly inform and abide by the decision to close in order to avoid legal issues. You will be notified to restart at a later time”
This means that venues that are registered as a restaurant can continue to serve alcohol with food, but venues that are registered as a bar or pub won’t be able to serve and don’t know when will they be able to.
