And the Arab Parents of the Year Award goes to…Hayat and Khalid for hosting a dream wedding for their 28-year-old daughter, Safa, who was born with Down syndrome, otherwise known as Trisomy 21. People with this condition or other disabilities are overlooked and often neglected in the Middle East.

However, this couple made sure that their Safa lived like any girl her age: that means PARTAAYYYY! 400 attendees celebrated with Safa, showering her with love and dancing in support with her condition. “People who never danced even danced on her wedding day. Even the imam,” Khalid said. And a wedding without a groom? That’s my ideal wedding!
