Anti-Israeli Harvard Letter Causes Criticism
Reactions from notable alumni and American Legislators to a letter from Harvard University student groups accusing Israel of causing unrest in the region have been negative.
The university’s Palestinian Solidarity Committee signed the letter, which has now caused backlash.
The letter signed by 33 student groups comes after Hamas launched a surprise attack in the early hours of Saturday which claimed the lives of 1,000 people. Israel responded to the attack with airstrikes so far raising the Palestinian death toll over 2,000 people.
Harvard Hillel issued a statement on its website saying, “Harvard Hillel strongly condemns any attempts to threaten and intimidate co-signatories of the Palestine Solidarity Committee’s statement, including the bus on campus displaying the names and faces of students affiliated with the groups who have signed it.”
