The UAE’s Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 organized a mass wedding for 300 Palestinian couples in central Gaza on April 24, offering a moment of joy to communities enduring prolonged hardship.
Held in Gaza’s Deir Al Balah, near the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital roundabout, the ceremony was one of the largest of its kind in Gaza. It drew an estimated 2,000 attendees, including families, community leaders, and representatives from local and international organizations, turning the event into a powerful display of unity and support.

Beyond the celebration, the initiative aimed to ease the growing financial burden of marriage for young Palestinians. Alongside the ceremony, couples received financial and in-kind assistance to help them start their married lives, covering essential wedding expenses and basic household needs.
Participants were chosen from thousands of applicants who registered when enrolment opened in late February. Organisers said the selection process prioritised Gaza residents who had not previously married and who met specific income and eligibility criteria.
The ceremony blended formal proceedings with cultural traditions, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere. Quran recitations and official marriage announcements were accompanied by traditional Palestinian dabke performances, while both the UAE and Palestinian national anthems were played.
For many, the celebration stood in stark contrast to the difficult realities surrounding it, offering not just a wedding but a moment of resilience, dignity, and hope.
