Want to Stalk the Yacht Next to You? There’s an App For That
So say you’re on holiday and the allure of lounging on your yacht deck has lost its luster. You’re terribly bored and you start to wonder about the boats around you wondering if there is another yacht charter you could look at getting – maybe they’ve got a better chef? Or maybe your electric has failed and you’re needing the use of their marine electricians, the possibilities could be endless as well as very helpful to those in need of help.
Now, thanks to Yachting Partners International, you can sufficiently stalk the yachts around you with their new mobile app that includes the world’s first interactive, dedicated yacht search based on real-time location data. It also allows you to (creepily) browse photo galleries of other yachts and know whether one is available for sale or charter.
“The Middle East is home to some of the wealthiest people on the planet, and the new playground of the rich and famous,” said Marketing Director of YPI Mark Duncan. “The region accounts for a large number of our bookings.”
With our region’s affinity for social media and near-obsession with connectivity, a yacht app makes sense. But wouldn’t it be amazing if this was also a dating app!? That’s our suggestion. Go Tinder-style and let people share their lion selfies and life goals in 500 characters or less, swiping left or right depending on whether you find their yacht attractive enough to bump anchors.
