Back in 2017, King Salman of Saudi Arabia issued a royal order allowing women to drive. The new decree marked the end of an oppressive policy against women in the kingdom; it was the only Middle Eastern country that didn’t allow women to drive. A few months after the ban was lifted on female drivers, Reema couldn’t wait anymore to make her first racing debut, and she finally did at Yas Marina Circuit in 2018, and later at the F4 British Championship in 2019.

Mark Turner, Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Series manager, told Saudi Gazette “To have the first Saudi Arabian woman to compete in an international racing series within the Kingdom is a major milestone for the sport, and one Jaguar Racing are immensely proud to be able to support”

WE SAID THIS: Girl power!
