If you’re driving down Sheikh Khalifa Street in Fujairah, don’t be surprised if your car suddenly starts playing music. As your tires glide over specially designed white strips embedded in the road, you’ll hear the unmistakable melody of Beethoven’s famous Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony.
What sounds like something out of a futuristic movie is actually very real, and it’s now officially record-breaking.
The first of its kind in the Arab world, Fujairah’s “Music Street” has just secured a Guinness World Records title as the world’s longest musical street, adding another remarkable achievement to the emirate’s growing cultural scene.
More than just a fun surprise for drivers, the project is part of a wider effort by the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy to bring art beyond galleries and concert halls and into everyday life. The idea is simple: transform an ordinary commute into an unexpected cultural experience.

The achievement was celebrated at the Emiri Court, where His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, met with the team behind the project and received the official Guinness World Records certificate on behalf of the academy.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed praised the academy’s efforts to strengthen Fujairah’s cultural and artistic landscape, highlighting the important role that music and the arts play in enhancing community well-being and quality of life.
With its new Guinness World Records title, Fujairah’s Musical Street stands as more than just an engineering novelty. It reflects the emirate’s continued investment in creativity, public art, and cultural development, proving that sometimes the road ahead can be music to your ears.
