UAE Court Issues Dh150,000 Fine for Playing Pokémon Go?

Pokemon Go is slowly but surely starting to feel like a religion. Everyone knows what it is and converting to it. Pokemon Trainers are seen everywhere walking around their blocks catching Ratatas. But of course, us Arabs can’t have nice things. Why, you say? Because the UAE have set some restrictions to play the game. Serious ones!

It all started when Saudi Arabia warned their residents about playing the game, the UAE soon followed by issuing a warning on the dangers of the game. Emirati lawyer Ibrahim Al Housny have said that the game “violates personal privacy which is now a punishment in the criminal law in the UAE and may lead to a Dh150,000 fine, or even worse, going to jail.” We just can’t deal with all these Pokemon Go craziness. Why can’t people just let people be? Ugh!
